Firefighters had to cut free a man after a four-car crash on the M20 motorway.

The accident happened on the coastbound carriageway between junctions 8 and 9 at 7pm yesterday.

Fire crews used hydraulic cutting equipment to free the man who was taken to Ashford's William Harvey Hospital with neck injuries.

All three lanes of the carriageway were closed temporarily in the aftermath of the crash.
