A FRIEND and colleague of murdered biker Gerard Tobin, gunned down on the M40 motorway, says he lived and breathed Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

John Warr, boss of Warr’s Harley-Davidson dealership, said the 35-year-old, known as Gerry, had worked for his company for 10 years since moving to the UK from Canada.

Mr Tobin, from Mottingham, Bromley, was a service manager at Warr’s in south east London.

Mr Warr said: "Gerry was a hard working, loyal and highly valued member of staff who will be sorely missed.

"He was popular with staff and customers and he was a highly skilled Harley technician working on the machines he lived and breathed. Our thoughts are with his partner Rebecca and we will be doing all we can to support her at this very sad time."

A member of staff at the store said everyone was shocked and saddened by his death.

Mr Tobin was shot dead on the M40 in Warwickshire on Sunday, August 12, in what police believe was a targeted attack.

He was returning from the Bulldog Bash biker event and was travelling in convoy with two other motorcyclists.

Detectives investigating the murder are targeting bikers’ rallies in a new bid to find witnesses.

Leaflets showing an image of a dark coloured Rover 600 series car central to the investigation alongside a photo of Mr Tobin have been produced.

Det Supt Lawrence, who is leading the murder hunt, said: "Clearly motorcycle enthusiasts from all over the country attend the Bulldog Bash event and we want to target as many potential witnesses as possible. The leaflets will be sent to locations throughout the country where motorcyclists gather and we hope the rally organisers will help us by handing them out."

Anyone with information should call police on 01926 415581 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
