Paul Prendergast denies murdering Cathal Hughes

A man has pleaded not guilty to a murder charge after the discovery of a body at a house in Ramsgate.

Paul Prendergast, of Margate Road, Ramsgate, is alleged to have killed 34-year-old Cathal Hughes, who was known as Ivan, between August 14 and 17.

Mr Hughes, who was known as Ivan, of Mayers Road, Deal, was found with his throat cut in the first-floor bedroom of the house in Margate Road.

Prendergast, 44, was remanded in custody on Wednesday and will stand trial at Maidstone Crown Court on April 19 next year.
