Pictures and Video: Vandals launch wrecking spree

Fifty cars have been damaged after vandals went on the
rampage in Chatham.

Officers from Medway Police Station are now investigating.

Vehicles were scratched and painted with graffiti with the words
"EVIL", "BB", and "V".

Walls and garages have also been damaged on Dale Street, Wyndham
Road and Balfour Road.

A woman, living in Dale Street, said: “It makes you wonder
about peoples’ mentality, that they need to go around and do
this.”

Another man, living in Wyndham Road, said:
“I’m angry, upset, but to be honest the feeling seems to be we know
that nothing will get done again.”

Neither residents wanted to reveal their names.

Det Ch Insp Dave Berry said: "This is a mindless act of
vandalism that has caused widespread damage to an area of
Chatham.

"We will be working hard to find out who was responsible for
this and taking action.

"We have been speaking to all victims of this crime in the area
and been carrying out door-to-door enquiries.

"Our Neighbourhood officers have been gathering information and
we are urging anyone with information to come forward.

"Medway Council's graffiti team are also in the area to help
clean some of the walls that have been affected."
