TONY BLAIR: internal sniping

PRIME Minister Tony Blair is due in Kent today on a visit that follows his efforts to put an end to speculation of a fall out with Chancellor Gordon Brown.

Mr Blair was expected to visit Chatham, Gillingham and Dartford, meeting party activists as well as making a policy speech on a tour lasting much of the afternoon.

His visit to the county follows a turbulent few days dominated by reports suggesting that he and Mr Brown remain at loggerheads.

Mr Blair has faced calls from his own backbenchers to put an end to the internal sniping and was taunted by Conservative leader and Kent MP Michael Howard at Prime Minister's Question Time yesterday over the reports.
