BRITISH Transport Police have released CCTV images of a man suspected of exposing himself to a woman on a train.

A 60-year-old victim, who was dragging a shopping trolley, is understood to have boarded the train at Belvedere railway station, in Erith, at around 1pm on January 3 when a male sat next to her.

The man, who was carrying a holdall, was then allegedly seen acting indecently while in the seat, before getting off the train at Plumstead station in south London.

The suspect is described as white, aged 55 to 65, and about 5ft 9ins tall. He was wearing a washed-out blue coloured bomber jacket, glasses and blue denim jeans.

Crime Action Team PC Ben Dawson said: "We have released three CCTV stills of this man and would like to speak to him in relation to the incident.

"We would also like to identify an unknown black male, aged in his 20s, who came to the aid of the woman after the incident.”

Anyone who believes they know the man in the images, or the passenger who assisted the woman, is asked to contact the BTP Freefone on 0800 40 50 40 or the Witness Appeal Line on 0207 391 5275 quoting background log B7 of 4/2/08.
