Police in Folkestone hunt sex attacker

A teenager was the victim of a serious sexual assault on the beach at Folkestone.

She was sitting on a bench in the harbour area of town when a man approached her.

They subsequently walked along The Stade, and a serious sexual assault took place on the beach in the Sunny Sands area between midnight and 1.30am on Thursday.

The man ran off towards Wear Bay Road. He is described as having olive coloured skin, short dark hair and was wearing green camouflage trousers and black shoes.

A man and a woman were on the beach at that time sitting around a camp fire and the woman went to help the victim.

Detectives believe she may be able to assist with inquiries.
