E-fit of suspect of sex assault on boy in Margate.

Could this be the face of a man who posed as a policeman to sexually attack a teenage boy?

Police have released this e-fit in the hope it will catch the sex attacker who pounced on the 15-year-old as he walked along Dane Valley Road in Margate.

It happened on Friday, August 19, but police have just released details of the stranger assault.

The victim and a friend were walking down Dane Valley Road when they were approached by the man posing as an officer.

They walked towards St Peter's from the direction of Tomlin Drive together before the victim's friend left to go home.

Investigating officer Det Con Paul Deslandes said: "The boy and the man then retraced their steps back along Dane Valley Road and during this journey the man sexually assaulted the boy.

"We believe this happened between 9pm and 11pm.

"Although this appears to be an isolated incident we urge people to be aware of the risks strangers can pose, especially to children who are out late at night.

"We ask parents to ensure they know of their children's whereabouts at all times."

The man is described as white, 5ft 9in tall, slim to average build, with short dark brown hair and stubble on his face.

He was wearing a white jacket with a zip-up front, white or grey three-quarter-length trousers and white and red Nike trainers.

Anyone who recognises the e-fit, or remembers seeing anything suspicious on that day should call Kent Police on 01622 690690 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting crime number EY/13646/11.
