Tides Leisure Pool in Deal has been evacuated because of a chemical spill in a downstairs toilet.

Four fire engines are at the scene, with crews wearing breathing apparatus ventilating the area.

This is the second time in recent months that the centre has been evacuated and out of action during a busy school holiday, after the fire in the sauna devastated the health suite in April.

Nobody is available from the centre to comment so it is unknown how long the facilities will be out of use.

A Kent Fire and Rescue spokeswoman said: "Crews are liaising with the environment agency and Southern water for advice on the clean up.
Nobody has been hurt."

Ambulance and police have been informed.
