Post mistress spared jail over £77,000 false accounts

A sub-postmistress who falsified accounts which resulted in a loss of over £77,000, has been spared a jail sentence.

Tarvinder Kaur Sandhul was sentenced to six months imprisonment suspended for 18 months and will have to abide by a curfew with electronic monitoring.

Maidstone Crown Court heard how the disgraced 27-year-old married mother had gone from earning £125,000 a year to losing her home and an “atrocious” financial position.

Sandhul, of Maidstone Road, Chatham, admitted three charges of false accounting between November 2006 and December last year.
