A MAN accused of raping a 10-year-old girl in Ashford as well as eight other women and girls has appeared in court at Greenwich to face more sex charges.

Antoni Imiela, 48, of Heathside, Appledore, near Ashford, is further accused of kidnap, indecent assault and attempted rape of a 10-year-old girl in Birmingham.

The alleged attack took place on November 21 in the Kings Heath area of the Midlands city.

He was remanded in custody until next Monday, January 30, when he will appear at Maidstone Crown Court.

On December 6, Mr Imiela was charged with nine counts of rape in the South East, including an attack on a 10-year-old girl on Ashford's Stanhope Estate in November 2001.

He appeared at Maidstone Crown Court on December 16 to face these charges and was remanded in custody until February 18 when he is expected to enter pleas.
