Road checks at death crash scene

WEST Kent police will tonight carry out road checks on Seven Mile Lane between Wrotham and Paddock Wood in a bid to gather more information concerning a fatal accident which occurred there a week ago. Alexander Morel, 24, a former pupil of Sevenoaks School, died after being cut free from the wreckage of his Renault 5 car which was in head-on collision with a Ford Escort at about 8.35pm on Thursday, November 29.

The driver of the Escort, from Tunbridge Wells, had his thigh bone broken in six places and also suffered a broken arm. He has undergone surgery at Maidstone Hospital. His female passenger sustained serious facial injuries and also underwent an operation.

Officers will speak to motorists about the accident between 8.15pm and 8.45pm this evening. Police want to hear from anyone who may have seen the incident or who may have other relevant information. They can be contacted on 01732 740055.
