An armed robber has stolen cash from a Gravesend bank in broad daylight.

Police say the man went into the Lloyds TSB branch in Perry Street at about 9.30am this morning and demanded money, but have not revealed the weapon.

The bungling bank robber dropped bundles of cash as he made his escape and fled to a nearby getaway car - a red Skoda Octavia estate parked in Alfred Place. It is not yet known how much cash was taken.

Police are asking witnesses to contact them with any information on 01474 366091 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.

They have described the man as white, 6ft, and wearing a dark Parka-style coat with the hood up, a black scarf, black tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.
