Seafront stabbing - men questioned

Three people arrested after a man was stabbed on Margate sands afternoon were still in custody and being questioned on Tuesday evening.

Two men, aged 33 and 29, from Margate, were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and wounding.

A 24-year-old woman, also from Margate, has been arrested for trying to pervert the course of justice.

The injured man, a 24-year-old from the town, was taken to the QEQM hospital.

He is now in a stable condition and his injuries are not considered to be life threatening.

Police were called to the beach by the Victoria jubilee clocktower at around 5.30pm on Monday.

Late afternoon sunbathers and beach users were kept away from an area of the main sands which was cordonned off with police tape and patrolled by an officer.
