POLICE are continuing to search a Kent house where two sets of human remains have been discovered.

There is a possibility that a second body found at the property in Irvine Drive, Margate, on Friday afternoon may be that of Essex student Dinah McNicol.

Dinah was 18 when she vanished after a music festival in Hampshire in the summer of 1991.

A post mortem examination has been carried out and a spokesman for Essex Police said: "The body appears to be that of a woman and the height, clothing and jewellery found with the body are consistent with that of Dinah McNicol.

"Samples have been sent off for urgent analysis but formal ID will take some time. Dinah's father has been informed."

The remains of Scottish teenager Vicky Hamilton, 15, who disappeared in Bathgate, West Lothian, 16 years ago, were found at the property on Monday, November 12.

Police confirmed the search of the house in Margate will continue for a number of days.

The spokesman added: "In terms of what will happen next, the focus remains the investigation into Dinah's disappearance and our work continues to secure any evidence.

"Groundwork in the back garden has now been completed. Work will now begin to prepare the ground floor inside the house over the remainder of the weekend."
