POLICE hunting a serial rapist who has attacked 10 women and young girls in the south of England are today continuing to question a 48-year-old Kent man.

Detectives have until late tonight to quiz the man who lives in a village near Ashford. Officers were yesterday granted a further 36-hour custody extension.

Senior police officers are questioning the man about nine rapes and one attempted rape. One of the rape victims was a 10-year-old Ashford schoolgirl.

The man was arrested by police officers late on Monday night on the M20 motorway at Maidstone.
