Siege man arrested by armed police

A SIEGE at a house in Frindsbury, near Strood, ended this morning with a man surrendering himself to armed police. It is believed the man, in his 50s, may have had an air-rifle.

He was arrested and is being questioned by detectives. The siege, which lasted about 18 hours, ended at about 11.30am.

Earlier about 20 officers and trained negotiators surrounded the house in Gardenia Close following reports of a man brandishing a firearm. It is not thought anyone else was in the property.
