One of Sir Winston Churchill’s most famous speeches was read out today to mark the 70th anniversary of the Battle of Britain over Kent.
Churchill's "so much owed by so many to so few" speech was read at 3.52pm - exactly 70 years after he gave the address in Parliament.
The reading outside the Churchill War Rooms in London was due to be followed by a Spitfire and Hurricane fly-past over Whitehall.
Much of the Battle of Britain was played out over Kentish skies between the RAF and the Luftwaffe.
Last month a flypast by a Lancaster and Spitfire was greeted with applause and waves as thousands of people marked the anniversary at Capel-le-Ferne.
The KM Group has produced a special commemorative supplement marking the Battle of Britain anniversary and Kent's "finest hour".
