Kent welcome back paceman Wayne Parnell for their LV County Championship Division 2 trip to Surrey on Friday.

The 19-year-old paceman (pictured) arrived from South Africa on Tuesday for his second spell with the county this summer.

Ford said: "We have had to cope for a while without an overseas player, and so it’s good to have Wayne back."

Looking ahead to the Surrey game, Ford insisted that there are no easy matches in the second tier of county cricket.

Ford added: "When we got relegated I thought we might get a few easy games in Division 2 but it’s certainly not working out that way.

"Last week we played leaders Gloucestershire and now we’ve got Surrey.

"We are in the middle of a good run now, coming off the back of our Twenty20 victories and have carried it on into the four-day game.

"The players have coped well with what has been a busy period, although you never feel quite so tired when you are winning matches."
