Most students would be only too pleased to get shot of their head teacher.

But not Rochester Math School.

Just weeks after the departure of head Keith Williams members of a social networking site are campaigning for his return.

A group called the Bring Back Keith Williams Association has been set up on Facebook in honour of the veteran school chief.

So far 81 members have signed up to the group which is described as ‘A group to honour and hope that the ‘ledge’ that was Mr. Williams will return!!!!’

Mr Williams retired from his post on Friday, April 4.

Just weeks before his retirement Mr Williams caused a media stir after he threatened detention for pupils seen getting into cars parked in the bus bay outside the school in Maidstone Road. He also warned that registration numbers of illegally-parked cars would be passed on to the police and Medway Council.

Dr Gary Holden, a former deputy head of Borden Grammar School, Sittingbourne, has since taken over the post.
