Suspected arson at newsagents

Three people escaped serious injury after a supsected arson attack at a newsagents in Sturry.

Kent Police are investigating the blaze which happened between midnight and 12.16am on Thursday.

The people living above the shop in Mill Road were woken by smoke and managed to leave the building before fire crews arrived.

DS Steve Mart said: "We are appealing for witnesses and ask anyone who was in the Mill Road area on Wednesday night and saw people acting suspiciously to contact Kent Police on 101 or Kent Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 quoting crime number ZY/13559/12."
