Tase of India at Sheppey school

There was an Indian feel to a Sheppey school last week after a visit from a dance teacher.

Year four pupils at Eastchurch Primary School spent last Tuesday taking part in an Indian dance workshop with Mansi Dabral who is part of Wise Moves, an organisation which goes round to schools to deliver multi-cultural workshops.

Mansi was invited in as year four are currently studying Chembakolli, a small village in the south of India.

The youngsters learnt different dance moves and had a go at a classic Indian dance which honours their teacher, or their 'guru’.

They also learnt different hand movements and steps.

Year four teacher Jan Austin said: “It was very successful and the children all enjoyed it.”
