Teenage sprint sensation Adam Gemili knows all eyes will be on him when he takes part in the trials for the World Junior Championships at Bedford this weekend.

The 18-year-old from Dartford flew into the headlines after running a time of 10.08s for the 100m in Germany two weeks ago to become the fastest Briton over 100m this year.

However Gemili (pictured) insists his thoughts will not be on qualifying for London 2012 this weekend and instead he'll be fully focused on the World Juniors which take place in Barcelona in early July.

He said: "I'm hoping to do both the 100m and 200m in Barcelona. I'm hoping to make the finals and then it's anyone's game."

The former Dartford Grammar School pupil admitted: "People may raise (their level) because they know what time I've run, but that won't affect me because everyone has their own lane and their own race to run."

Gemili would have just a week to recover from the World Junior trials before the British Olympic trials in Birmingham but he added: "I won't forget about the Olympics trials but this week is time to do what I need I do to make the World Junior team and then from there, who knows what could happen?"
