A Thanet man is due in court next week after his estranged wife was found with multiple stab wounds.

Gary Peterson, 39, of Fort Hill, Margate, is charged with her attempted murder.

It follows an incident on Tuesday, November 23, at a house in Richborough Road, Westgate-on-Sea.

Paramedics were called shortly before midnight and found the 39-year-old woman bleeding from her injuries. She is now recovering.

Peterson has been remanded in custody and is due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday (December 13).
