The shape of things to come in Maidstone

by Alan Smith

Prepare for a new-look Maidstone.

Letts Wheeler Architects has been asked by Maidstone council to direct a £4m refashioning of the county town’s High Street.

The company’s designs won favour with the judging panel at a final presentation meeting where the Nottingham-based firm was selected above the other four finalists in the council’s RIBA-sponsored contest.

Their selection was formally approved by the council’s cabinet members on Thursday night.
