Thugs rob young mother in park

A 25-year-old mother was pushed to the ground and robbed of her purse as she walked with her children in a park.

The victim was walking through Gillingham Park at Gillingham with her three-year-old daughter at her side, and her baby in its pushchair, when she was knocked to the ground by a gang of three yobs.

The pushchair was knocked over. The gang then stole the woman’s purse from the pushchair and ran off.

The victim lives in Gillingham. The robbery happened at about 9.15am on Tuesday, near to the Park Avenue area of the park.

A spokesman said: "All the offenders were white and about 15 or 16. The first is about 5ft 5in and was wearing white baseball cap and blue hooded top.

"The second male was about the same height as the first of thin build, and had dark-brown collar-length curly hair. He was wearing a dark hoody top and blue jeans.

"The third was of stocky build and wearing a white hoody top and tracksuit trousers with stripes on the legs."

The investigating officer, Det Con Bill McLearie, added: "These youths may have been in the park for some time. If if anyone can identify them or has any information about this incident, please get in touch with me urgently on 01634 884014." Or call Kent Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
