Ticket sales have been brisk for the Kent Spitfires’ Twenty20 Cup quarter-final tie against Durham Dynamos.

The tickets only went on general sale last Friday but already nearly 2,000 have been snapped up.

The Spitfires are hoping for a bumper crowd and director of cricket Graham Ford said members and fans can really help the side.

He said: "There is no doubt that the players perform better when the crowd is positive and right behind the team. If they show passion, then it really helps.

"Hopefully, we will pack the ground out and make it a great atmosphere."

Kent’s director of business development Jamie Clifford added: "Revenue from ticket sales is important to us – so a home quarter-final is a welcome bonus.

"We have shown that we are one of the best Twenty20 sides around in recent years and know our supporters will want to be part of further success.

"We have got a taste for Finals Day in the last two seasons and, with the support of our loyal fans, I’m sure we will want to make it a hat-trick of appearances."
