A goalkeeping howler allowed Gillingham to take a share of the points in their Combination League match against Brighton on Tuesday.

The Gills twice went behind in the match at Priestfield and it was youth striker Tom Murphy (pictured) who levelled the match at 2-2 after an error from visiting keeper Greame Smith.

Gills boss Mark Stimson named a team with plenty of first team experience, with the likes of John Nutter, Adam Miller and Alan Julian appearing.

The first half ended goalless with Gillingham coming close with efforts from Dean Rance and Luke Rooney and early in the second Julian saved well to deny Kevin McLeod.

Just before the hour mark Glenn Murray netted the opener and Gillingham responded with youth pair Murphy and Charlie Stimson entering the attack.

Tom Wynter saw a chance come back off the bar and with 81 minutes gone Rashid Yussuff levelled the scores.

Immediately Brighton went 2-1 ahead through David Livermore but the game ended all-square when Smith hashed a clearance and Murphy tapped home.

Gills: Julian, Bartrum (Davies 46mins), Nutter, Payne, Wynter, Essam, Yussuff, Rance (Murphy 60mins), Erskine (Stimson 60mins), Miller, Rooney. Subs not used: Quinn, Geering.
