Twelve people are due to appear at Maidstone Crown Court on Monday on charges relating to a £235,000 fraud.

Two of those charged are 37-year-old Pauline McKenna of St Pauls Close, Strood and 38-year-old Louise Allgood from Richmond Road, Gillingham.

The 12 were charged in April with conspiracy to defraud Thomas Cook, after they were arrested last year.

Five others were arrested but have been released without charge. One other person remains on bail.

The court appearance follows arrests made by Kent Police's serious economic crime unit who arrested seven people at Gatwick airport last October.

Kent Police, assisted by officers from Sussex Police, made the arrests after receiving reports of fraud involving holidays booked to Jamaica using stolen credit card details.

Three men and four women were arrested on suspicion of fraud at the time. A further 38 passengers were not allowed to board their scheduled flight.
