Two smashes have caused heavy tailbacks on the M20 near Cheriton.

Police closed off junction 12 of the motorway after the crashes on the coastbound carriageway of the M20 between junctions 12 and 13 at 2.31pm, but later reopened.

The main incident involved a Land Rover, but there were no serious injuries. There was also a minor non-injury crash nearby.

Police warned of heavy congestion, and advised motorists to avoid the area and take alternative routes.
