Lecturers at the University of Kent in Canterbury and Medway take part in strike

Hundreds of lecturers and staff at the University of Kent took part in national strike action today.

Thousands of students were affected by the walkout, which is expected to last two weeks.

Those on the picket line say they're angry at the "wage inequality" at the university as well as their growing workloads.

Reporter Phil Wellbrook spoke to some of those taking part to gauge the strength of feeling.
