A yellow weather warning for strong wind in Kent on Boxing Day has been issued by the Met Office.

Very windy weather is predicted from 3pm on December 26 to noon on December 27.

The are concerns it could disrupt travel and utilities.

Road, rail, air and ferry services may be affected, warns the Met Office, with longer journey times and cancellations possible.

It also says some roads and bridges may close, there could be power cuts and problems with mobile phone coverage.

People have also been warned that there could be large waves, impacting sea fronts, coastal roads and properties.

Some damage to buildings is possible, says the warning, such as tiles blown from roofs.

The warning for windy weather follows one issued today for heavy rain, which was later updated and no longer included Kent.
