Frank Nouble marked his Gillingham debut with a goal – and then insisted there’s more to come.

The 19-year-old only met his team-mates for the first time on Friday after joining on loan from West Ham.

But he endeared himself to the Gillingham fans with a goal inside the first 20 minutes at Hereford on Saturday.

"It was a great feeling," beamed Nouble. "As a striker you want to get on the scoresheet.

"I only had one session with the players but I’ve settled in and they have taken to me well.

"I’ve scored on my debut so hopefully there is more to come. I was happy with the goal.

"I would have taken a goal on my nose – anything – but that goal was a good one so I’m happy.

"The goal illustrated what I can bring during the month I am here."

Nouble is also open to extending his loan from Upton Park beyond the initial month, if he can continue to cause havoc for League 2 defences.

"You never know what is going to happen in football," he said. "But hopefully I can do well and it can be extended. The month loan puts you under pressure to do well."
