Whitstable boss Peter Nott has strengthened his midfield with the loan capture of Gillingham youngster Alex Brown.

The 18-year-old (pictured) was promoted to the Gills’ senior team at the start of this season after completing a two-year scholarship.

He has yet to make a first team appearance for the League 2 outfit and the Gills are keen to see him get match practice. He joins initially for a month.

Town face two Kent derbies in four days as they seek to get their Ryman League, Division 1 South campaign back on course after four straight defeats.

Town are at home to Faversham on Saturday before travelling to Hythe Town on Tuesday. Peter Hawkins is expected back after recovering from illness and both Dan Wisker and James Simmons are close to returning from hip injuries.
