AN ELDERLY woman was robbed of £90 when her handbag was snatched in Albion Road, Cliftonville, at 5pm yesterday.

The 77-year-old was walking along the road when she was approached from behind by a man wearing dark clothing. He grabbed the beige leather bag and ran off.

This is the third bag snatch in the area since the end of last week. Thanet police would like to hear from anyone who saw anything or who heard shouts for help. Call 01843 231055.
