Woman in wheelchair stoned in Sittingbourne

Police are hunting yobs who stoned a woman in a wheelchair.

The victim, who hasn't been named, first suffered "horrid" verbal abuse, and was then attacked by the youths - aged as young as eight.

The stoning happened at around 7pm on July 29 at Rectory Road playing field in Sittingbourne - but police have only just released details.

Officers said the woman was left with a "significant swelling" to her head as she was subjected to a hail of stones from the four to five youths, aged between eight and 13.

Police are appealing for witnesses and and are asking anyone using the playing field to be vigilant.
