Tonbridge had their four-match unbeaten run ended by Skrill South newcomers Gosport Borough on Saturday.

Having not won any of their first seven games following promotion, Gosport scored two second-half goals to sink Tommy Warrilow’s side at Privett Park.

Angels had early chances, with Jon Heath heading wide and Nathan green’s deflected effort held by Gosport keeper Gareth Barfoot.

After the break, though, the home side came into their own and they took the lead on 53 minutes when James Brown headed in Mike Gosney’s cross.

Sam Pearce went close with a free-kick from 25 yards and Justin Bennett sent a lob just over the bar as Gosport pushed for a second.

And they duly got one, 10 minutes from time, when Rory Williams beat Clark Masters in the Angels goal.
