GILLINGHAM have extended the loan of winger Tommy Black for a further two months.

The 26-year-old joined last month from Crystal Palace and played his final game of that deal against Scunthorpe on Saturday.

Since arriving he has made seven appearances and got on the scoresheet during the club’s 1-1 draw at Chesterfield.

The extension means Black will be available for Gills’ next 10 games but he’ll miss the last game of the season at Blackpool, as by then he would have reached the maximum days allowed to stay at the club.

Black’s inclusion in the squad for Saturday’s home clash against Brentford will a timely boost for manager Ronnie Jepson, who should also have fellow wide man Matt Jarvis available, after recovering from a hernia operation.

Gillingham will, however, be without striker Neil Harris for the match as he serves a one-game ban for picking up five cautions.
