Broomfield book place in third round

Herne Bay and Whitstable Sunday League side Broomfield booked their place in the third round of the Kent Premier Cup after thrashing Birchington United 5-1.

Broomfield looked stronger and more comfortable in the tough conditions and lead 2-0 at half-time.

In the second half, Field pushed on from the whistle and produced, what could arguably be called their performance of the season as they ran out 5-1 winners.

Kirk Epps, John Atkinson, Michael Groom, Billy Bowman and Richard Burrell were all on target.

Lockly Bower crashed out of the competition after suffering a 6-1 defeat against South-Eastern Sunday.
