Dale voted top junior cross-country runner

WHITSTABLE'S Charlotte Dale, a member of Invicta East Kent, has been selected by Athletics Weekly magazine as Britain's top junior cross-country runner.

The 18-year-old, who is coached in Maidstone by Peter Brenchley, was a winner of the Reebok Cross series and the Reebok Inter-Counties.

After a massive victory by five minutes in the Kent championships, she finished fifth in the European and 31st in the World Championships, despite a fall in the former and suffering a severe cramped calf muscle in the latter.
