Invicta Dynamos head coach Kevin Parrish has missed out on a potential signing after his prospective new recruit decided to play higher-league ice hockey.
Parrish was hoping his potential new forward would have played in the club’s Division 2 trials on Wednesday.
But his target had already signed a deal, a decision which Parrish could understand.
"I was hoping that the player was going to come in for me to look at but he has signed a contract elsewhere," said Parrish.
"I think I’ve missed out now. He has gone to a higher league so I wish him well at that level.
"It’s his desire to play at a higher level but the door isn’t closed on him and if he doesn’t enjoy it then there is the possibility that he could join mid-season."
Despite the setback, Parrish was delighted with the standard of the trial game and believes the future is looking good.
"A few of the guys players for us a while back and have come back and given it a go so that’s good," he said.
"They need a few extra players to tighten their defence but I’m sure they are going to do well."
Parrish is hoping to complete his summer rebuilding plans in the next week as he continues his countdown to the new campaign.
