GILLINGHAM manager Ronnie Jepson believes Barry Cogan is the man to fill the void left by Matt Jarvis.

Jarvis played a key role at Priestfield last season but the Gills boss is hoping the 21-year-old can emulate his former wing-wizard.

Jepson said: "He can be another Matt Jarvis. He's got good skills and dribbling and hopefully we can bring out the best in him."

Cogan said: "I've got a good feeling about it and I'm looking forward to the new season."

Meanwhile, the Gills have missed out on striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, who has agreed a one-year deal with Swindon.
