Gillingham youngster Sam Muggleton has become one of Martin Allen’s first signings at Barnet.

Eighteen-year-old Muggleton was known as “The Weapon” during his time with the Gills due to his huge throw.

Muggleton has made two senior appearances for the Gills. He featured just once this season during the 2-1 defeat at Coventry.

Under current Gills boss Peter Taylor, Muggleton hasn’t featured in a matchday squad and leaves on a youth loan, with a deal until the end of the season.

He could feature for the Bees this weekend in their game against promotion-chasing Cambridge United.

The Gills have also sent young full-back Joe Carter out on loan until the end of the season.

He joins Ryman League Canvey Island, who this weekend face Margate.

Their departures follow the exit of Callum Davies to Dover, who moves to Crabble on loan for the remainder of this campaign.

The loan deadline closes on Thursday but all existing deals can be extended, meaning Devante McKain’s loan at Bromley may well be lengthened.
