KENT snooker star Gerard Greene bowed out of the Travis Perkins UK Championship after going down 9-3 to seventh seed John Higgins in their second round clash in York.

Greene, from Rainham, held Higgins at 2-2 halfway through the first session before the Grand Prix champion pulled away impressively, taking seven out of the next eight frames for victory.

Greene received a walkover in the first round after Australia's Quinten Hann failed to show up for their match.
