Kent skipper Rob Key was smiling from ear to ear in praise of match-winners and century-makers Martin van Jaarsveld and Joe Denly after Kent's emphatic 83-run semi-final win over Durham on Friday night.
Sharing a well-earned beer with his team-mates in the Riverside dressing rooms after the victory, Key said: "The most pleasing thing for me as skipper is that in all our big games so far this season various players have stepped up and made some big performances for us, and that was again the case here today.
"Riverside is a tough place to come and play a one-off semi-final, with 6,000 in they almost acted as a 12th man for them, but we picked ourselves up and put in a proper performance.
"We have a great balance about the side at the minute with some experienced heads like Jarre (van Jaarsveld)doing what they do best, and youngsters like Joe Denly, who played yet another unbelievable knock today."
Kent are now through to the Lord's final on Saturday, August 16, but club officials will not know the breakdown of their ticket allocation until Sunday.
Kent officals are considering ticket and coach travel options for members and fans and will have more details once the club office opens from 9am Monday. The office telephone number is 01227 456886.
