TAKALOO: plenty to smile about
TAKALOO: plenty to smile about

KENT boxer Takaloo has a double reason to celebrate. He eased through his warm-up fight against Wladimir Borovski at the weekend and has also learned he's been granted British citizenship.

The 'Margate Rock' looked good as he floored the Ukrainian in round three at the Newport Centre, in Gwent, South Wales on Saturday.

Earlier the same day he was told by the Home Office his citizenship application had been granted which gives him the freedom to go to European training camps and spar in America.

He said: "It was a really good day for me. All I need to do now is win the lottery as well!"

Takaloo is now planning a short holiday before defending his WBU World Light Middleweight title in the autumn.

He stressed: "I don't want to be out of the ring for long and get ring-rusty."
