Gillingham have failed in their appeal to have Mark McCammon’s red card rescinded.

The Gills striker was sent off on Saturday following a 13th minute challenge on Aldershot keeper Nikki Bull.

Manager Mark Stimson felt the decision was “harsh” and the club appealed to the FA against the decision.

That has now been rejected and the striker is suspended for the next three matches. He misses Saturday’s home game with Port Vale, the trip to Exeter and the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy clash with Colchester on October 7.
