Beckenham were left to rue a missed penalty after they drew 2-2 with Glebe at Eden Park Avenue.

The visitors had the better of the first half but a lapse in defence saw Harvey Brand latch onto keeper Michael McEntegart's long kick and prod Beckenham ahead on the stroke of half-time.

Former Millwall forward Jamie Philpot produced a clinical low finish to level the scores straight after the break.

Jason Mensah conceded a penalty on the hour but Glebe keeper Callum Thomas kept out Ryan Hall's well-struck spot-kick.

Beckenham did go ahead, however, when Tunde Aderonmu's deflected effort left Thomas wrong-footed.

However, Glebe made it 2-2 almost immediately with a stunning left-foot curler into the far corner by Eric Demelo.

Corinthian got their league campaign underway with a 2-1 win over Lordswood, coming from behind as Samson Alalade’s 31st minute goal was cancelled out by Josh Stirman and Josh James got what turned out to be the winner.

Balham won again, beating Fisher 1-0, winning thanks to Tom Read’s early penalty.

AFC Croydon had to settle for a point at home to Erith & Belvedere in a 1-1 draw. Nahum Green scored the opener for the hosts but Steve Springett levelled.

On Monday night, Deal Town claimed a 2-0 win at K Sports.

Troy Howard scored the first from a free-kick and Billy Munday doubled their advantage on the hour.

The action continued on Wednesday night as second-half goals from Joe Kane and Sam Welch handed Hollands & Blair a 2-0 success over Crowborough at Star Meadow, despite playing with 10 men for the majority of the match.

New boys Tower Hamlets scored after 20 seconds against Welling Town but ended up losing 3-2.

Javaan Campbell turned in a left-wing free-kick to put Hamlets ahead but Welling levelled when Ryan Golding headed in a free-kick.

Golding's deflected cross-shot was turned in by Oliver Bennett to make it 2-1 inside the first 15 minutes and the visitors had strong appeals for a penalty turned down before the break.

Hamlets levelled nine minutes into the second half when Denilson Carvalho scored a goal of the season contender, tricking his way through the Welling defence before slotting home.

But Golding regained his side's advantage on the hour mark, scoring from close range after a Hamlets made a mess of defending a corner.
