Dartford Harriers' Isio Orogun wins 200m gold for Kent as county finish fourth in Southern Inter-Counties Championships at Hendon

Isio Orogun of Dartford Harriers was a winner for Kent in the Southern Inter-Counties Championships at Hendon on Sunday, writes Alan Newman.

Essex won the match with 114 points from Surrey (104), Herts (100) and Kent (99.3).

Orogun won the under-15 women’s 200m (25.19sec), while Ashford AC's Ellie Gooding was also among the Kent gold medallists in the under-20 women’s pole vault (3.60m).

Second-place points scorers included Lloyd Rigall (Dartford Harriers) in the under-15 200m (23.27) and Thomas Kendrick (Tonbridge) in the under-15 1,500m (4min17.66sec), while there was a bronze for Deborah Martin (Ashford AC, 1.65) in the under-20 women’s high jump.

Just missing out on a medal was Medway and Maidstone’s under-15 high jumper Amber Durrant (1.55), who finished fourth with the same height as the athletes ahead of her in silver and bronze positions.
