Gillingham 0 – 1 Oldham Athletic

GILLINGHAM are having another difficult afternoon and trail at half-time against Oldham at a sunny Priestfield.

Looking to bounce back after two consecutive 3-0 defeats, Neale Cooper’s side got off to the worst possible start when they went a goal down after just five minutes.

Chris Hope was penalised for a foul on Chris Killen on the left-hand side and Killen was in the right place to head home Andy Liddell’s resulting free kick.

The home side have struggled to find a way through the Oldham defence in the opening 45 minutes.

The closest they came was a Matt Jarvis shot in the 10th minute that was held by Chris Day in the visitors’ goal.

Gillingham: Brown, Sancho, Cox, Hope, Rose, Hessenthaler, Crofts, Flynn, Jarvis, Harris, Byfield.
Subs: Crichton, Jackman, Pouton, Hislop, Shields.
